The Importance of Divisions

Fight leagues use a weight class system to make fights more fair. Depending on the promotion, fighters weigh in no more than 24hrs before a fight. Many of them use techniques to lose water weight and cut down to a smaller size. It's common for most competitors to walk around 15-45lbs heavier than the weight they fight at.
